Sascha Blocker

Sascha Blocker serves on the Cerimon House Creative Council, works as a Public Speaking instructor at Portland State University, and is a local volunteer, bicyclist, and theater artist.  Sascha has a passion for non-profit service, having served as an America Corps volunteer, volunteered at Well Arts Institute, La Puente (food, shelter, and advocacy for homeless and community members in crisis), participated as a builder for Habitat for Humanity, and worked with the American Red Cross.  While living in Washington DC, Ms. Blocker worked as the Legal Clinic Coordinator at Bread for the City, and with Joseph’s House providing hospice care for men with HIV and AIDS.

Ms. Blocker is a graduate of the London International School of Performing Arts (LISPA) and was awarded an MFA in Lecoq Based Actor Created Theater from Naropa University.  She is a graduate of the Portland Actors Conservatory, and a founding company member of Das Collectivnost de Teatro y Ridicule International and Olio Productions.  As well as serving on the Board of Directors [2012], Sascha appeared as Louisa in Cerimon House’s March salon Persuasion and as Annabelle in the November salon The One You Feed.

The Creative Council are citizen artisans who, working collaboratively with Director Randall Stuart, create and produce the events for the year. The Cerimon House programming – our signature salons, ceremonies, workshops & symposia – all focus on the idea of exalting the Humanities in performative ways, and gathering to share Story. The Council includes teachers, designers, activists, authors, philosophers, clergy, business folk, movement specialists, puppeteers, poets, social workers and more.
