Paul J. Susi
Paul Susi is an educator and a theatre artist based in Portland, and works as a Youth Counselor for New Avenues for Youth and a Coach/Performer for PlayWrite, Inc. Paul has extensive experience working with at-risk youth populations, including drug and alcohol addictions, adjudicated and post-incarcerated youth, juvenile sex offenders and trauma survivors. Paul has worked as a teaching artist with Clackamas County Juvenile Department’s probation program, the Arts and Communications Magnet Academy of the Beaverton School District, Lincoln High School, Pacific University’s Theater Department, The Alliance School/Portland Night High School, Rosemont’s School for Girls, The White Shield Center of the Salvation Army, Mt. Scott Learning Centers, and the Merrick School at Christie Care. Paul is proud to serve as dramaturg and assistant to the Executive Director at Cerimon House. Mr. Susi frequently appears in our salons, including the recent Lee, Adam & Sam and Persuasion, and is the author of the performance pieces On Carrying On and the upcoming All At Sea.
The Creative Council are citizen artisans who, working collaboratively with Director Randall Stuart, create and produce the events for the year. The Cerimon House programming – our signature salons, ceremonies, workshops & symposia – all focus on the idea of exalting the Humanities in performative ways, and gathering to share Story. The Council includes teachers, designers, activists, authors, philosophers, clergy, business folk, movement specialists, puppeteers, poets, social workers and more.
