JAMES AGEE: An American Son

An evening about the life & times of the Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist and film critic, James Agee, featuring excerpts from many of his most beloved writings and cinema reviews, and including portions of his classic A Death in the Family.

Created by Randall Stuart & Gemma Whelan, and performed by members of the Cerimon House Board of Directors – as well as special guest Megan Cole. Our first official “salon” performed at Stonehenge Studios in the delightful Lair Hill neighborhood.

With a voice of both Tennessee and New York, Agee was an American son. His short life was as epic as his stories and discoveries: bittersweet, brilliant, ageless.

Please join us for future evenings of Great Thought. Return to Recent Events to investigate more.

"We are talking now of summer evenings in Knoxville, Tennessee, in the time that I lived there so successfully disguised to myself as a child." - James Agee
