Here at Cerimon House, we have been honored to have hosted an extended exhibit of the oil paintings of Betty Chilstrom, specifically a collection of images the show the buildings, houses, trains/ships, and roads of Portland, Oregon. These captivating pieces of art have delighted the many community members who have visited our building over the years.

The story within and behind the work of Betty Chilstrom is now being illuminated by the release of a book of biography and art: ”Through Her Eyes” which is about Betty’s life journey and artistic visions, as written & curated by her daughter Robin Chilstrom.

We are so pleased to have been a home for Betty’s art, and this November we host a month long exhibit of over 60 of her paintings, the launch of the book about her life, and a related community conversation (December 9th) about Portland’s changing neighborhoods: the very areas that Betty captured and preserved in her vast collection of painted memories.
