FEATURED IN PORTLAND MONTHLY: LABYRINTHS: AN ALTERNATIVE MODE OF MOVING MEDITATION:
The Creative Path Walk
Large-scale walking patterns have captivated humans for thousands of years. Here at Cerimon House, we see the labyrinth as a signature image for our work in the community, especially during these times of change in the world. The path is a great way to focus and then move forward.
THE THEME ON THE CREATIVE PATH
FOR JUNE IS: "REFLECTIONS ON FATHERHOOD"
Our walking pattern is a 33 foot square adaptation of the unique and historic Reims, France design. This fascinating path is similar to a large-scale compass, and our attendees enjoy walking the pattern to unplug, restore, and recalibrate. It takes about 25 minutes to walk, and the pattern is flat.
You can't get lost on a labyrinth (unlike mazes which are designed to "amaze or confuse") for there is always a way forward and an arrival point at the center: a place of integration and calm.
