Cerimon House welcomed back The Meriwethers, a marvelous band from Ashland, Oregon, for their newest sharing:
Songs of Discovery
Friday, Nov. 18 @ 7:00PM
Sunday, Nov. 20 @ 2:30PM
Oh, what a discovery!
The Meriwethers deliver a multimedia presentation of music and story inspired by Lewis and Clark with the Corps of Discovery's epic journey from St. Louis, MO to the Pacific Ocean and back: featuring original songs, video, and stories from the famed 1804 - 1806 travels. The Meriwethers invite you to celebrate this adventurous piece of history, and to experience the emotional perspective of the real men and women who blazed a trail across our young country after the Louisiana Purchase. Find out about the animals they met along the way, and how one lucky prairie dog became the United States Presidents' Guest of Honor!
"Our audiences were thoroughly delighted. This lovely & artful group, and their surprising themed song-scape of one of the greatest Western epics, is a wonder for your eyes, ears, and heart. Having The Meriwethers with us for a week of residency and workshopping is what Art is all about: a circle of great minds assembled around a campfire, spinning tales of the essential human story." - Randall Stuart, Founding Director | Cerimon House
The Meriwethers play indie folk and Americana music with singer/songwriter Manda Bryn, acoustic guitarist Ezra Severin, harmony vocals/guitar & reed box musician Nell Geisslinger, and percussion, vocals & guitar musician Mysha Caruso. Other instruments in the mix are banjo, harmonica and bowed bells.
