How LAIKA Makes An Animated Film

What happens behind the scenes of a major stop-motion production? Mark Shapiro from LAIKA, the Oregon-based animation studio, took us through the process. Cerimon House (we’re mad for puppets!) was delighted to introduce you to Mark this Autumn.

Building entire worlds by hand, piece by piece, learn how LAIKA creates life in 24 frames per second, including their 3 Oscar-nominated feature films: Coraline, ParaNorman, and The Boxtrolls. Founded in 2005, the studio’s fourth feature Kubo and the Two Strings will premiere in theaters worldwide in Summer 2016.

We are so delighted to bring programming of national impact to the newly renovated Cerimon House. Thank you to Mark Shapiro, the many LAIKA fans, and all who joined us for this whimsical & wonderful event.
